About
About me
How I lead
- Curiosity
- I believe good ideas come from looking widely. I read deeply, ask a lot of questions, and stay close to where design and AI are heading. I seek out perspectives that often go unheard, and bring them into the work.
- Rigor
- Great work starts with a high bar. I expect clear thinking, strong framing, and polished deliverables, and I stay firm on those expectations. I also give my team real ownership, providing support for their growth and agency. They write the first draft, present to clients, and grow into roles they haven’t held before.
- Momentum
- Opportunities grow out of relationships. I bring a lot of energy to my work, and I’m persistent. I can turn a first conversation into a lasting partnership. I win work few others can unlock and connect people who might never have met.
Bio
I am a VP at Artefact, a world-class design consultancy, where I draw upon the fields of human-centered design, systems thinking, business, and ethics to develop meaningful experiences that have a positive impact. My clients include Samsung, Microsoft, Eli Lilly, Gates Foundation, Omidyar Network, and UNICEF. I lead teams and programs that tackle an array of complex problems from helping post-secondary institutions center student success to designing AI principles that preserve, not erode, our critical thinking skills.
I’ve worked in the for-profit and nonprofit sectors and have 20+ years of experience in product design, development and commercialization. Before Artefact, I worked at PATH, a public health organization, where I commercialized several innovative medical devices in China, Brazil, India, and South Africa.
I am on the board of a nonprofit, HalfTheStory, which is focused on education and advocacy to mitigate harms associated with social media and tech use. My commitment to youth mental health was recognized by the Presidential Leadership Scholars Program in 2024.
